The 2017/18 year of The Acadia S.M.I.L.E. Program will be getting under way in September, 2017 and we will be looking for volunteers! If you will be an Acadia University student in the Fall of 2017 and would like to get involved as a new or returning instructor, please attend our Call for Volunteers, which will be taking place on September 11th at 6 PM in the Huggins Science Hall auditorium.
To volunteer with S.M.I.L.E., you must have a valid criminal record check that was completed sometime within the three years prior to April 8th, 2018.
If you need to complete a criminal record check, please obtain one from your home town police detachment if possible. Otherwise, criminal record check forms can be obtained from the Acadia Safety and Security desk and once filled out, can be brought to the Town of Wolfville R.C.M.P. Detachment for completion. A letter requesting a criminal record check for you on behalf of S.M.I.L.E., which can then be provided to the requisite authorities, can be obtained by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
