Acadia ALERT - Campus Closed (Weather)

Today, Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Acadia University will remain closed, with the exception of residences and Wheelock Dining Hall, due to the current campus and travel conditions. Wheelock Dining Hall may adjust their hours and any change in hours will be communicated through Residence Life.

Employees and students are not expected to come to campus and only employees deemed essential are required to report to work. Non-essential employees are not expected to work during the closure. Any events scheduled for today will be postponed or cancelled.

Updates will be posted on www.acadiau.ca and pre-recorded on Acadia’s Information Line: 902-585-4636 (585-INFO) and on 585 phone system voicemail. If you need emergency-related information, please contact the Department of Safety and Security by dialing 88 on all 585-phone systems, or by calling 902-585-1103.

The Acadia S.M.I.L.E. Program is offered free of charge to our participants and our costs are covered solely through our own fundraising efforts. Read below to learn about donation options and to learn about how to become a S.M.I.L.E. Donor of the Day!

Want to become a Donor of the Day? Contact Dr. Roxanne Seaman via email roxanne.seaman@acadiau.ca

  • Your donation of $250 for one program day (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday) is used to fund one day of the Acadia S.M.I.L.E. program. You can also donate $500 to be the Donor of the Week for Snoezelen Room programming.
  • Your generous contribution enhances the physical activity environment for participants and improves the opportunities to help them reach their goals and potential!
  • Donations can be made by a business, individual, family, school, in memory of someone, or fundraiser for S.M.I.L.E.
  • Donors have the option to be recognized on our social media channels and are welcome to visit on the program day!
